If you are enlisted and your command does not know about your DUI arrest, do not tell them and talk with a DUI lawyer immediately. Your lawyer should tell you not to discuss what happened with anyone. If you are ultimately convicted and your command finds out, they will be upset you did not tell them. The fact that you were following legal advice protects you from any reprimand. At worst, they will investigate and when a JAG contacts your lawyer and he or she confirms they told you not to talk about your case with anyone, that will be the end of it. If your command finds out after the case is closed, sometimes there is no punishment from them since you have already been punished by the civilian authorities.
