The Work Projects program is an alternative sentencing option for both adult and juvenile offenders. Defendants are referred to this program by the Court to complete manual labor as a sanction for an offense, in lieu of paying fines or serving time in custody.
The Probation Department contracts with over 30 public agencies and supplies 8-28 person crews to assist with litter cleanup, weed abatement, firebreaks, maintaining and improving landscapes, digging and clearing flood control trenches/ditches and erosion control; in addition to numerous other tasks to preserve and enhance San Diego County.
If you or a loved one has been allowed to complete public work service you must enroll within 60 days from your court date.
To enroll you must bring the following:
1. Court Order issued by the court
2. Picture I.D.
3. Non-refundable Enrollment Fee (personal checks are not accepted)
If you or a loved one requires re-assignment to Public Work Service, have been charged with a DUI or another offense; please contact our office at (619)258-8888 to speak with an experienced attorney
