DUI/Driver License Checkpoint and Saturation Patrols Planned this New Year’s Weekend
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver License Checkpoint on Friday December 30th in the community of Sabre Springs beginning at about 7:00 p.m. and ending at approximately 2:00 a.m
Deputies and officers from the San Diego County Avoid Task Force will be contacting drivers passing through the checkpoint for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment. Officers will also check for proper licensing. Drivers caught driving impaired can expect jail, license suspension, and insurance increases, as well as fines, fees, DUI classes, that can exceed $10,000.
Deputies and officers from the Avoid Task Force will also be out in force in Pacific Beach conducting DUI saturation patrols on New Year’s Eve, December 31st.
City of Escondido plans DUI checkpoints in undisclosed locations for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
