In San Francisco it turns out that Police have not been calibrating the breath test machines used to test the alcohol level of those suspected to be driving under the influence. Breathalyzers are supposed to be properly maintained and calibrated in order to properly read and analyze the blood alcohol content of the person being tested. These specific breathalyzer machines should have been calibrated every 10 days and it has been discovered that this was not taking place this resulting in inaccurate results for those being tested. Due to the inaccurate and unreliable readings from the breathalyzers, hundreds of those charged and convicted with a DUI may get a do-over due to the inaccurate readings.
