In San Diego DUI cases it may be possible to get the bail placed on an individual reduced. Reduction of bail is decided by the Judge and depends on several factors such as the severity of the charges and the other bail setting factors. Bail cannot be reduced prior to arraignment. In order to have bail reduced a person must remain in custody until they are in front of a judge and can ask for a bail reduction. This may mean that a person arrested may be in jail for several days until being heard by a judge.
