Public Work Service-San Diego County By Daniel Smith

The Work Projects program is an alternative sentencing option for both adult and juvenile offenders. Defendants are referred to this program by the Court to complete manual labor as a sanction for an offense, in lieu of paying fines or serving time in custody.

The Probation Department contracts with over 30 public agencies and supplies 8-28 person crews to assist with litter cleanup, weed abatement, firebreaks, maintaining and improving landscapes, digging and clearing flood control trenches/ditches and erosion control; in addition to numerous other tasks to preserve and enhance San Diego County. If you or a loved one has been allowed to complete public work service you must enroll within 60 days from your court date.

To enroll you must bring the following:

  1. Court Order issued by the court
  2. Picture I.D.
  3. Non-refundable Enrollment Fee (personal checks are not accepted)

If you or a loved one requires re-assignment to Public Work Service, have been charged with a DUI or another offense; please contact our office at (619)258-8888 to speak with an experienced attorney
