Perhaps the silliest field sobriety test commonly used by police is the alphabet test. It is almost exactly what it sounds like. You are asked to recite the alphabet. There is no benefit to taking this test. If you make any mistakes, the police will conclude it was because you were impaired by alcohol. If you do it perfectly, the "expert" called by the prosecution to testify at your DUI trial will does not in any way prove you were sober.
